Job Description
Oulder Hill Leadership Academy is seeking an ambitious and talented Deputy Director of Learning – Technical, with a primary focus on leading Computer Science. Since joining the high-performing Star Academies trust in 2022, we have become a rapidly improving school, recently graded ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted (January 2025).
As a school with a leadership specialism, we combine a rigorous, knowledge-based curriculum with a focus on character and social action. This role is a prime opportunity for a middle leader looking to expand their influence or an outstanding teacher ready to step into their first faculty leadership position.

Key Responsibilities

Faculty Leadership: Lead a successful technical faculty, drawing on your experience to improve standards and pupil outcomes across the department.

Curriculum Innovation: Develop and implement an exciting Computer Science curriculum that engages diverse learners and prepares them for GCSE success.

Staff Development: Coach and motivate colleagues within the faculty to achieve individual and collective targets, fostering a culture of high expectations.

Student Attainment: Ensure the sustained delivery of outstanding attainment, particularly for students in a disadvantaged community.

Star Leadership: Embody the STAR values (Service, Teamwork, Ambition, and Respect) and contribute to the wider Star Academies network.
What We Are Looking For
We want to hear from teachers who possess the resolve to make a real difference and the technical skill to lead a modern Computing department.

Qualifications: Degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Experience: A proven track record of teaching to GCSE standard with sustained, outstanding pupil achievement.

Leadership Skills: Experience in innovation and creativity to progress learners, alongside the ability to lead a team.

Mentorship: The ability to coach colleagues to improve their own pedagogical practice.
