Customer Experience Assistant (Part-Time, Reduced Year) – Leeds
This post is for 25 hours per week, worked over 38 weeks of the year. You will join the Customer Experience team at the new Pudsey Sixth Form Campus, part of Luminate Education Group. The team is warm, enthusiastic and dedicated to providing an outstanding experience for students, visitors and stakeholders.
You’ll be based on a busy reception front‑of‑house, where every day is different. You will handle a wide variety of enquiries, giving information and guidance to prospective and current students to help them choose the right course and plan their future pathways. Your work will directly support students to start each day with confidence and a smile.
As part of a 50+ strong Customer Experience and Student Recruitment department across multiple campuses, you will work closely with colleagues in central Leeds and at other sites. The group has excellent transport links, being close to major bus and rail routes.
What You Will Do
- Greet all students, visitors and stakeholders warmly and professionally
- Deliver high‑quality customer service, information and guidance across face‑to‑face, phone, email and web chat channels, representing the Luminate brand
- Advise current and potential students from application through enrolment, helping them navigate their journey into college
- Identify customer needs, clarify information, research issues and provide appropriate solutions or alternatives
- Play an active role in student recruitment events such as open days, taster sessions and curriculum‑specific activities
- Promote course offerings, curriculum activities and college events
- Work flexibly across different workflows and shift patterns, including the occasional Saturday in line with business needs
About You
- Relevant customer service training, qualification or experience
- Experience working in a customer‑focused role or environment
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google applications
- Awareness of data protection and confidentiality requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good attention to detail and accuracy when handling information
- Effective problem‑solving skills and a positive, solution‑focused attitude
- Literacy and numeracy at Level 2 or above
- Willingness to work across campuses in Leeds city centre and Pudsey
