This is a high-stakes leadership role designed for a seasoned professional who thrives at the intersection of hyper-growth, card operations, and credit risk management.

As the COO, you will be the primary architect of the bank’s operational scaling strategy. You will oversee the entire lifecycle of card operations—from issuance to dispute management—while maintaining a laser focus on credit risk and regulatory compliance. We are looking for a transformation-minded leader who can harmonize cutting-edge technology with rigorous financial controls to deliver a world-class customer experience.

Executive Responsibilities

  • Strategic Growth: Partner with the CEO to define and execute operational roadmaps that support rapid domestic and international scaling.

  • Card Operations Excellence: Lead the end-to-end card portfolio strategy, optimizing supply chains, processing partners, and settlement workflows.

  • Risk & Compliance: Maintain a robust 1st Line of Defense (1LoD) by ensuring all operations adhere to FCA/PRA standards and internal credit risk frameworks.

  • Workflow Optimization: Drive productivity through automation and process re-engineering, reducing operational friction while maintaining high security.

  • Leadership & Culture: Mentor a high-performing operations and risk team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and customer-centricity.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience: 12+ years of total experience in financial services, with at least 5 years in a C-Suite or Executive leadership role.

  • Domain Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of credit card portfolios and the neo-banking ecosystem.

  • Regulatory Acumen: Proven track record of navigating UK banking regulations and managing high-level risk assessments.

  • Vision: A “builder” mindset capable of taking a successful platform and scaling it into a market leader.
