Role Summary
The Shift Trader plays a pivotal role in our 24-hour shift team, responsible for the commercial and operational management of power activities across the UK.
• Drive trading efficiency by identifying opportunities to maximize profit through informed risk-taking around asset portfolios and market positions
• Develop advanced analytics and tools to enhance decision-making and optimize trading performance
• Actively trade interconnector capacities in short-term markets, intra-day, and balancing markets
• Proven experience trading on exchanges, including qualification to trade UK power on EPEX and managing assets within the UK Balancing Mechanism
• Strong quantitative skills, with proficiency in sophisticated trading and analytical platforms
• In-depth knowledge of GB and European energy markets, understanding key market drivers (e.g. weather, generation stacks, etc.) and trading regulations
