Coffee Van Operator – Part-Time

Wake The Dead Coffee, a queer, female-owned specialty coffee company established in 2016, operates two iconic vintage Peugeot vans across London. We are seeking a reliable, friendly, and organised Coffee Van Operator to manage our Sunday coffee van at Victoria Park. You will serve customers, operate the van efficiently, and ensure smooth daily operations.

Role Responsibilities

  • Collect the van in the morning, pre-heat the coffee machine, and drive to the market pitch

  • Set up the van, prepare stock including milk and ice

  • Serve customers while managing the shift with one team member

  • Pack down and return the van to base at the end of the day

  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and customer satisfaction throughout the shift

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence with confidence driving a left-hand van

  • Some barista or hospitality experience (training provided if needed)

  • Reliability, excellent people skills, and ability to manage a smooth operation independently

  • Flexible, organised, and able to work Sundays

Hours & Pay

  • Sundays, 8:00am – 4:30pm

  • Starting rate £17/hour during probation

  • Percentage-of-sales model with higher earning potential (£200+ per Sunday) once confident in the role
