Diversity, Inclusion, and Workforce Statistics
NES Psychology is committed to developing a workforce that reflects the diverse population of Scotland. Current data from the NHS Scotland Workforce Diversity Report and NES Psychology annual reviews highlights the ongoing focus on representation:
-
Ethnicity in Psychology: Historically, Clinical Psychology has faced challenges with racial diversity. In Scotland, approximately 4.5% to 5.0% of the total NHS workforce identifies as being from a racially minoritised background. NES is actively working to increase these numbers within Psychology training cohorts through targeted inclusion initiatives.
-
Disability: Approximately 1.1% of staff in NHS Scotland have formally declared a disability, though NES acknowledges that real-world figures are likely higher and actively encourages applications from disabled professionals.
-
Career Breaks: This role explicitly welcomes applications from those returning from maternity, paternity, or caring leave, recognizing that varied life experiences enrich the clinical tutoring process.
