Clinical Educator (Nursing, Midwifery & AHP)

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) King’s Lynn is offering an inspiring opportunity for an experienced clinician to join our Education Faculty. As we embark on a “once in a generation” journey to build a new state-of-the-art hospital and implement a major digital transformation with our 2026 Electronic Patient Record (EPR) rollout, this role is central to preparing our workforce. You will be a visible, supportive presence in urgent care settings, bridging the gap between theory and practice for the next generation of healthcare professionals.


Core Requirements and Skills

  • Professional Registration: Must be a Registered Nurse (NMC) or a Clinical Professional registered with the HCPC.

  • Education & Training: Possession of a Degree in a relevant field and formal Supervisor/Assessor training (or equivalent).

  • Experience: Significant post-registration experience (Senior Band 5 or Band 6) within an acute hospital setting.

  • Student Support: Recent experience working with and supporting learners in a clinical environment.

  • Leadership: Ability to model high professional standards and demonstrate effective leadership qualities under pressure.

  • Technical: Maintain accurate training records and provide detailed progress reports.

  • Desirable: A Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and advanced Microsoft Office skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Presence: Acting as a visible mentor within urgent care to help learners achieve their clinical objectives.

  • Quality Assurance: Supporting supervisors and assessors to ensure the clinical learning environment meets high educational standards.

  • Educational Delivery: Designing and delivering teaching sessions across a variety of clinical programmes and trust-wide training initiatives.

  • Culture Building: Promoting a culture of lifelong learning where education is viewed as integral to daily clinical practice.

  • Workforce Development: Identifying professional development opportunities to ensure the workforce is “fit for purpose” for our future hospital.
