Responsible for maintaining cleanliness in offices and communal areas, performing dusting, mopping, sanitising, and other routine cleaning tasks efficiently.

Role Overview

• Cleaning operative for offices and commercial venues in York.

• Flexible hours with coverage for holidays or sickness.

• Part of a small team working collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Basic office cleaning including dusting, vacuuming, and spot cleaning.

• Floor and room cleaning: sweeping, damp mopping, dust mopping.

• Restroom cleaning: emptying trash, cleaning fixtures, mirrors, and toilets.

• Additional cleaning tasks as required.

Skills and Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience preferred; training provided if needed.

• Responsible, reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.

• Professional attitude with a positive, “roll-up sleeves” approach.

Schedule

• Summer: 3–4 working days, including weekends.

• Winter: Thursday to Monday.

• Flexible start between 9:00–10:30 am, finished by 1:00 pm.

• 28 days holiday pro-rata, including Bank Holidays.

Requirements

• Ability to commute or relocate to York.

• Minimum 1 year of cleaning experience.

• English language proficiency preferred.

• Driving licence preferred.

Compensation

• £12.50–£13.50 per hour.

• Expected 7.5 hours per week, with potential increase up to 15 hours.
