Key Responsibilities

• Opening and securing the school site

• General site maintenance and basic repairs

• Carrying out health & safety checks

• Setting up rooms for school activities and events

• Ensuring the school grounds are clean, safe, and well maintained

• Supporting staff with ad-hoc site-related tasks

• Liaising with contractors where required

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience as a caretaker, site assistant, or facilities operative (preferred)

• Reliable, practical, and hands-on approach

• Good understanding of health & safety

• Able to work independently and take initiative

• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

About the Role

As the School Caretaker, you will be the guardian of the school’s physical environment, ensuring that the site is safe, secure, and ready for learning every morning. From performing essential safety checks and basic repairs to coordinating room setups for school events, your work will directly impact the well-being of both staff and students. This hands-on role requires a self-starter who can manage their time effectively between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm, providing a seamless link between facilities management and the school’s daily academic mission.
