Career Progression in Care
Helping Hands emphasises that this role is a starting point. Many carers progress through a structured clinical and managerial pathway:
Summary of the Role
This is a “domiciliary care” position, which is different from working in a care home. You will be working independently in the community, visiting multiple clients per shift. The high hourly rate (£14.95+) reflects the responsibility and the requirement for a vehicle.
Quick Tip: Because you’ll be managing your own travel, mention your “Time Management” skills in your application. In home care, being punctual is vital because clients often rely on you for time-sensitive tasks like medication or meal preparation.
