Junior Placement Specialist – North American Financial Institutions

The Opportunity Aon is offering a compelling opening for a Placement Specialist to join our Financial Institutions unit within the Global Broking Center in London. This position is perfectly tailored for a professional with foundational experience in Financial Lines or Financial Institutions (or transferable insurance expertise) who is eager to advance by assisting senior intermediaries and accepting greater accountability. The primary focus involves supporting the placement of Financial Lines coverage for US and Canadian financial entities, including pioneering organizations within the digital assets and Web3 sectors.

Role Overview You will collaborate with veteran brokers, gaining hands-on experience in coordinating and contributing to the marketing and negotiation of Financial Institutions accounts within the Lloyd’s and Company Markets. This is a hybrid position, integrating both office-based and remote working environments.

Daily Accountabilities

  • Evaluate submissions and facilitate the collection and organization of underwriting data.

  • Assist in negotiations with primary and secondary insurance markets.

  • Help formulate and communicate terms to policyholders and global network associates.

  • Execute firm order placements utilizing PPL and electronic communication.

  • Maintain meticulous records of market engagement within internal tracking systems.

  • Critically review draft and finalized Market Reform Contracts (MRCs) under senior guidance.

  • Generate and dispatch coverage confirmations to clients and regional offices.

  • Support the development of benchmarking reports and strategic placement guidance.

  • Coordinate logistics and follow-up actions for insurer and client consultations.

  • Manage standard accounting and claims inquiries, escalating intricate matters as required.

  • Facilitate the identification and tracking of new business leads for the senior leadership.

  • Adhere to the Aon UK Risk Management Framework and participate in all mandatory regulatory training.

Candidate Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional tenure within the insurance sector at a brokerage or carrier.

  • At least 18 months of technical insurance knowledge, with a preference for a Financial Lines background.

  • A solid grasp of London Market mechanics and fundamental operational workflows.

  • Proficiency in utilizing industry-specific digital platforms for efficient service delivery.

  • Demonstrated history of managing productive professional relationships.

  • Articulate communication and presentation capabilities.

  • Comprehensive understanding of FCA regulations and compliance standards.
