Requirements and Skills

Relevant qualification to degree level.

Detailed working knowledge of wildlife and the relevant legislation and policy in place to protect and enhance it.

Experience of providing high quality, clear and coherent ecological advice, particularly within planning.

About the Role
As a Biodiversity Officer, you will act as a specialist advisor to the County Council and district planning authorities, focusing on development management and strategic planning. You will be responsible for evaluating the ecological impact of proposed growth and ensuring all projects align with current wildlife legislation and environmental policies. By providing clear, evidence-based advice, you will ensure that biodiversity is not just protected but actively enhanced throughout the planning process.
