Pulse Healthcare
Band 6 Locum Physiotherapist | Pulse Healthcare (Hull)
The Opportunity
Are you a dedicated Physiotherapist looking for a high-impact, flexible role in community care? Pulse Healthcare is seeking a Band 6 specialist to join a dynamic team in Hull, focused on stroke rehabilitation and addressing critical waiting lists. This 3-month locum contract offers a premium hourly rate of £24–£27, providing a significant financial uplift compared to permanent NHS Band 6 base rates (typically starting around £19.78/hour). Working with a recruiter that holds preferred supplier status means you gain access to exclusive community placements where you are treated as a professional, not just a resource. This is an ideal role for an autonomous practitioner who wants to specialize in neuro-rehabilitation while maintaining a flexible work-life balance.
Qualifications and Experiences
-
Relevant qualifications in physiotherapy (BSc or above) and HCPC registration.
-
Experience in stroke care and neurological rehabilitation.
-
Valid driving license (essential for community-based travel).
-
Experience with SystmOne is desirable but not essential.
-
Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
The Role
In this specialist community role, you will be the lead clinical voice for stroke patients during their recovery journey outside of the hospital setting. Your daily responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments and implementing personalized treatment plans that foster independence and well-being. You will navigate the Hull community to provide care in patients’ homes, collaborating closely with a multi-disciplinary team of occupational therapists, nurses, and specialists. Beyond clinical delivery, you will play a key role in service efficiency, helping the Trust manage its backlog through high-quality, solution-focused intervention.
Sector Insight: The “Locum Premium” & Clinical Systems
As you cluster this twenty-second role, two key technical differentiators emerge:
-
The “Locum Uplift”: At £27/hour, this role earns approximately 36% more than the entry-point for a permanent Band 6 Physiotherapist (£19.78). This premium compensates for the temporary nature of the contract and the lack of permanent benefits like the NHS pension scheme.
-
SystmOne DNA: The mention of SystmOne creates a strong “Interoperability” link with your Social Worker and HCA roles. In Hull and the wider Humber region, SystmOne is the dominant Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system used to bridge the gap between GP surgeries and community teams.
