Data Analyst – National Bail Information Service (BIS)
The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) is a cornerstone of the UK government, dedicated to protecting the principles of justice and upholding the rule of law. Within the National HMPPS Bail Information Service (BIS), we provide the courts with objective, factual data to support informed bail decisions. As a Data Analyst, you will be the engine behind our performance insights. By transforming raw operational data into high-quality visual products, you will empower senior leaders and court officers to improve service delivery across England and Wales. This is a national role that offers the chance to apply your technical expertise to a service that directly impacts the fairness and efficiency of the justice system.

You won’t just be “crunching numbers”—you will be storytelling with data. You will organize complex datasets from reception prisons and courts, using Excel, Power Query, and Power BI to build dashboards that highlight trends and operational performance. Whether it’s creating a deep-dive written report or a high-impact PowerPoint presentation for non-technical stakeholders, your insights will drive evidence-based decision-making at the heart of the justice system.
