Babu Master Class

Babu Masterclass is Dishoom’s leadership programme for those ready to grow into a Babu role. You’ll build confidence, develop key leadership skills, and learn how to guide the wider team with generosity, consistency, and attention to detail. You’ll also gain a deeper understanding of every part of the café—and how great leadership brings it all together to create a brilliant guest experience.

What the Programme Looks Like
• A chai chat with your Babu to talk about your goals and readiness to lead
• Cross-training in departments you haven’t yet worked in, to build confidence across the café
• Five full-day classroom sessions in Babu House, exploring the Seva Leadership framework
• On-shift feedback from senior Babus and one-to-one coaching from the programme lead
• Time and support to apply for Babu roles when you feel ready
• Who It’s For

This programme is for anyone currently working in one of these roles:
• Shift Leader or Senior Team Member
• Deputy or Head of Department
• Programme Structure

This is a 4–6 month programme. You’ll stay in your café and train alongside your team, with cross-training in departments you haven’t yet worked in. You’ll also join five classroom sessions—each one focused on a different pillar of Seva Leadership.
