Job Description
Keep a critical London facility running safely and reliably as an Assistant Technical Services Manager with Integral UK Ltd. You’ll lead an on-site engineering team, oversee building systems and ensure every technical decision supports uptime, compliance and an excellent experience for the client.
Role Overview
Based at London Bridge, you’ll report to the Technical Services Manager and act as a key figure in day-to-day REM operations. You’ll manage engineers, coordinate MEP systems, support client meetings and own reporting, risk and Health & Safety leadership across a busy, mission‑critical site.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and People Management
- Supervise, coordinate and lead the site engineering team in delivering the full Statement of Work
- Provide direct line management, including one‑to‑ones, coaching and performance appraisals
- Set clear objectives, review competency, identify skills gaps and plan training and succession
- Ensure minimum staffing levels are maintained and arrange shift cover when needed
- Build a consistent, capable engineering team through mentoring and knowledge sharing
Technical Operations and Systems
- Operate and oversee all building systems (MEP and critical plant) safely and efficiently
- Control activities relating to technical operation, maintenance and improvement of facility systems
- Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations and Critical Facilities Risk Management standards
- Monitor utilities usage, flag anomalies and identify energy‑saving opportunities
- Manage critical spares, maintain a stock register and complete monthly audits
- Keep the asset database accurate and up to date
Client and Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with account teams to support 100% uptime for critical facilities
- Attend and contribute to weekly operations and client meetings
- Support Facilities Managers with projects, contractor management and MEP works
- Escalate critical equipment issues promptly, preparing clear reports and recommendations
- Plan and prepare specialist vendor visits for FM approval
Reporting, Risk and Compliance
- Assist with monthly and quarterly engineering reports for the account team and client
- Maintain and update the engineering risk register, reporting on availability and reliability
- Lead critical incident and near‑miss reporting, including after‑action reviews and improvements
- Support CAFM and helpdesk processes, ensuring SLA and KPI targets are met
Health & Safety Leadership
- Champion a “Safety First” culture in line with JLL Cardinal Rules and Integral procedures
- Ensure all works follow safe systems and statutory compliance requirements
- Promote best practice in risk assessments, permits, method statements and PPE use
- Participate in on‑call and escalation processes for emergency response and critical works
Qualifications
- Electrical or Mechanical engineering background
- C&G Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent/higher qualification
- C&G 2391 test and inspection; BS 7671 for inspection, testing and certification
- 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (desirable)
Skills and Experience
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and direct engineering teams and shift leaders
- Strong communication skills with staff, management, vendors and clients
- Advanced IT skills and confident, concise report writing
- Experience managing technical operations in a critical or complex building environment
- Calm under pressure with a proactive, improvement‑focused mindset
- Clear understanding of customer needs and expectations in a corporate setting
