About the Role
As a Class Teacher at Mount Pleasant, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to children aged 4–11. This is a 30-hour-per-week full-time post where you will implement the National Curriculum and EYFS framework within a small-school setting. You will work at the heart of the service community, providing stability and excellence for families on continuity tours. Beyond the classroom, you will play a key role in whole-school strategy and safeguarding, ensuring that despite the geographic isolation, our pupils receive an education that rivals the best in the UK.
Key Responsibilities

Excellence in Teaching: Plan and deliver well-structured lessons that inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils across the primary age phase.

Curriculum Delivery: Apply deep knowledge of the National Curriculum and EYFS statutory framework to ensure excellent progress.

Adaptive Learning: Tailor your teaching style to respond to the diverse strengths and needs of a small, mixed-ability student population.

Assessment & Progress: Use accurate and productive assessment methods to track pupil outcomes and inform future planning.

Safeguarding: Act as a champion for the welfare and safety of all children in accordance with DCS and MOD policies.

Community Engagement: Maintain excellent communication with Service families and stakeholders within the British Forces South Atlantic Islands.
Person Specification (Requirements & Skills)
Essential Criteria:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): You must hold QTS and have successfully completed your induction year (where applicable).

Primary Experience: Proven experience in whole-class teaching within the primary phase, ideally in a UK or DCS school.

High Expectations: A track record of setting standards that challenge and inspire pupils to achieve their best.

Classroom Management: Ability to manage behaviour effectively to maintain a safe, productive, and inclusive learning environment.

Professional Conduct: Demonstration of the high personal and professional standards outlined in the DfE Teacher Standards.
