Job Description

Support nursery children’s development, participate in activities, assist staff, and complete apprenticeship training alongside practical work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to activities meeting individual children’s needs and interests

  • Record and communicate children’s learning and development to parents and carers

  • Support parents, carers, and family members as required

  • Actively engage in team working and nursery operations

  • Participate in high-quality care and supervision of children

  • Attend out-of-hours activities (staff meetings, training, events)

  • Assist with domestic tasks including preparing meals and cleaning toys

  • Follow nursery ethos, creating a warm, friendly environment

  • Work alongside nursery manager and staff team

  • Promote and adhere to EYFS policies efficiently

  • Deliver excellent customer service

  • Ensure smooth daily nursery operations

  • Read, understand, and follow all relevant policies and procedures

  • Complete a minimum of 6 hours per week on apprenticeship work and training

Training & Development

  • Monthly 1-2-1 meetings online with tutor

  • Modules include child development (birth–7 years), safeguarding, promoting wellbeing, purposeful play, and educational programmes

  • Minimum 3 hours per week for assignments and 3 hours employer-led training

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:45 PM or 9:15 AM – 6:00 PM
