We are looking for a precision-driven Banking Operations Analyst to join our Payments team in the City of London on a 6-month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC). This is a high-impact, “back-fill” role in a specialist environment where you won’t just be a cog in a machine—you will be responsible for the seamless flow of domestic and international capital. Key Responsibilities & Work Outputs

• Payment Execution: Input and action domestic and international payments with absolute accuracy, ensuring all transactions adhere to strict currency cut-off times.

• Systems Mastery: Utilize SWIFT Lite and manage NOSTRO account entries to facilitate global liquidity flows.

• Operational Integrity: Liaise with internal compliance and screening teams to ensure all payments meet regulatory standards and are correctly reflected in core banking systems.

• Risk Management: Perform rigorous end-of-day checks to ensure all processing queues are clear and escalate any anomalies or errors to senior management immediately.

• Client Excellence: Provide top-tier service to both internal departments and external clients, resolving payment queries and processing issues with speed and professionalism.

Candidate Requirements

• Technical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of SWIFT Lite, payment formats (MT/MX), and the mechanics of NOSTRO accounts.

• Detail Oriented: A “first-time right” mindset with a high level of accuracy, even when working toward tight, time-sensitive deadlines.

• Banking Proficiency: A solid understanding of general banking procedures, international payment rules, and regulatory protocols.

• Resilience: The ability to stay calm and focused in a pressured, specialist environment.

• Linguistic/Cultural Awareness: An appreciation for the nuances of payment instructions within the African and Middle Eastern markets is highly valued.
