Elevate your career in Equity Research by joining the #1 ranked team in the industry. Bank of America is seeking an Analyst or Associate to join our Mining, Steel & Paper team in London. This elite 6-person group, led by a highly experienced Managing Director, covers a massive portfolio of 50 stocks with a combined market capitalization of over $700 billion.

In this role, you will become a subject matter expert in the cyclical and capital-intensive materials sector. You will move beyond simple data entry to perform deep-tier fundamental analysis, interpreting how global economic shifts, regulatory trends, and ESG mandates affect the valuation of the world’s largest industrial players. From building complex financial models to hosting “field trips” for institutional investors, you will be at the heart of the information flow that moves global markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Valuation & Modeling: Develop and maintain sophisticated industry-specific financial models using DCF, multiples, and net asset value (NAV) metrics.

  • Research Production: Author high-impact equity research reports, ranging from quick stock-specific updates to deep-dive thematic industry pieces.

  • Data Synthesis: Interpret macro-economic, demographic, and regulatory trends to predict sector-wide shifts in Mining and Steel.

  • Client Engagement: Market your research views to institutional investors and coordinate “Corporate Access” events, such as expert speaker calls and site visits.

  • Corporate Relations: Build and manage relationships with senior management teams of the companies under your coverage.

  • Global Collaboration: Partner with global research colleagues to produce cross-sector and cross-regional reports.

Your Qualifications

  • Academic Excellence: A Bachelor’s degree with outstanding academic results; high numeracy is essential.

  • Technical Mastery: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and strong accounting/financial mathematical skills.

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous diligence and a proven ability to deliver flawless work under high-pressure deadlines.

  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal skills, with the ability to articulate complex investment theses to internal and external clients.

  • Preferred: Prior experience in Equity Research or Investment Management, particularly within the Industrials or Materials sectors.
