This is a high-responsibility, customer-facing role where you will manage everything from general enquiries from barristers and solicitors to the essential management of jurors. Your work ensures that the court operates smoothly, helping users navigate the complexities of the Crown Court system with professionalism and care.

  • Agency Liaison: Handling enquiries from the police, Crown Prosecution Service, solicitors, and barristers via email, phone, and face-to-face interaction.

  • Juror Management: Coordinating the full range of duties associated with the management of jurors during serious criminal trials.

  • Administrative Progression: Carrying out general administrative duties to move cases efficiently through the tribunal and court systems.

  • Public Interaction: Serving as a primary point of contact for the public, providing clear and approachable guidance on court processes.

Requirements & Skills

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a friendly and approachable manner.

  • Technical Accuracy: Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when resulting cases and managing legal documentation.

  • Time Management: Skilled in organizing your time, prioritizing tasks efficiently, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

  • IT Adaptability: Proficient in using various software packages and adapting to in-house digital filing systems.

  • Customer Service: A genuine desire to provide proactive and effective support to court users by phone, email, and in person.

Benefits & Working Arrangements

  • Location: Based at Nottingham Crown Court, 60 Canal Street.

  • Hours: Standard full-time hours are 37 hours per week. Part-time options are considered (minimum 30 hours over 4 days).

  • Work Style: These are operational, customer-facing roles that require successful applicants to be office-based.

  • Career Growth: Access to extensive training and a career path within the wider Civil Service and Ministry of Justice.

  • Visa Note: This role is not eligible for new Skilled Worker visas. Applicants must have the existing right to work in the UK.
