Specialist Physiotherapist

HCA Healthcare UK

Job Description

HCA Healthcare UK is seeking a Senior Physiotherapist (Band 6 equivalent) to join its Corporate Healthcare division. This is a permanent, part-time (17.5 hours per week) role based within a prestigious corporate client’s on-site clinic in Manchester.

In this role, you will move away from a traditional hospital setting and into the heart of a professional business environment. You will provide rapid-access Musculoskeletal (MSK) assessment and treatment for employees, focusing on injury prevention, occupational health, and proactive wellbeing. This role is ideal for a clinician who enjoys working autonomously while being part of an integrated primary care team (alongside GPs and Nurses) to keep a workforce healthy and productive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Excellence: Deliver expert MSK triage, assessment, and evidence-based treatment for a diverse range of conditions, from acute sports injuries to chronic postural issues.

  • Occupational Health Integration: Support “Return to Work” programs and provide ergonomic advice to prevent workplace-related injuries.

  • Integrated Care: Collaborate daily with on-site GPs and Occupational Health Nurses to provide a seamless healthcare journey for employees.

  • Data & Governance: Maintain meticulous clinical records and contribute to Management Information (MI) statistics to demonstrate service value to the corporate client.

  • Health Promotion: Contribute to practice meetings and wellbeing initiatives aimed at fostering a “proactive” rather than “reactive” health culture.

What You’ll Bring

Essential Requirements:

  • Registration: Must be an HCPC Registered Physiotherapist.

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience, with at least 3 years specifically in MSK outpatients.

  • Clinical Skills: Strong background in primary care or community-based physiotherapy.

  • Professionalism: Excellent communication skills suitable for a high-profile corporate environment (e.g., global banks or law firms).

Desirable Qualities:

  • Postgraduate MSK qualification.

  • Previous experience in Corporate Healthcare or a GP practice setting.

Why HCA Healthcare UK?

  • Flexible Schedule: 17.5 hours per week across 3 shifts with no weekend work, providing an excellent work-life balance.

  • Financial Security: Competitive salary (£37,000 – £42,900 pro-rata) and a private pension that increases with service.

  • Premium Benefits: Includes Private Medical Insurance for treatment at HCA’s world-leading hospitals and life assurance from day one.

  • Professional Growth: Access to £500 million worth of invested technology and unrivaled internal/external training pathways.

  • Wellness Focus: Enhanced family leave, “Cycle to Work” schemes, and discounts at over 800 retailers.

The Corporate MSK Landscape (2026)

In 2026, corporate physiotherapy has evolved beyond the treatment table.

  • Digital Triage: Physiotherapists now use advanced digital gait analysis and wearable data to monitor employee recovery in real-time.

  • The “Hybrid” Strain: With hybrid working becoming permanent, MSK specialists are seeing a rise in “home-office syndrome.” Assessments now frequently include virtual home-workplace reviews.

  • Biopsychosocial Focus: Corporate Physios are increasingly trained in mental health first aid, recognizing the link between professional stress and physical pain manifestations (somatization).
